Sculptor Wendy Taylor CBE

Like John Wendy has been a sculptor her whole life. Like Steve she works with a multitude of materials and processes. But her work is usually on a architectural scale and almost always placed in public spaces.
As a camera-toting Londoner I've encountered several pieces of Wendy's work over the years. But until I Googled her in preparation for this shoot I didn't know it was all the work of one person. The most well known from a Londoners perspective is probably 'Timepiece'. It has been used as a foreground in photos of Tower Bridge thousands of times.
When I first met Wendy a few weeks ago she was working with fabricators. 6 mirror-polished stainless steel rings joined at one point near the top and then flaring apart towards the bottom. It was around 15' in diameter and has just been placed in Euston.
The fabricators were in a large unit in North London (adjacent to Steven). These photos were taken at Wendy's studio close to the Thames in East London. It's a converted pump house and an environmental portrait photographers wet dream.

The day before this shoot someone asked, "do you do smiles?"...

Sculptor Bruce Denny

Bruce creates figurative anatomical bronzes. The rearing clay horse and rider shown in these photos was the mould for a commission from St Pauls Cathedral. It's kept at Bruce's railway arch studio to help demonstrate his process when lecturing. Right now several of his life-sized pieces are exhibiting outside on Soho Square.
