One of my earlier corporate portrait commissions was in the Summer of 2007. It was for three company directors. This shoot stood out at the time: I hired a room on the 23rd floor of Canary Wharf to meet the brief for a windowed blue sky background. The brief, based on a rival company's portraits, also dictated flat lighting, tight framing, off-camera direction and shallow depth-of-field.
We shot together again last month, this time using a room on a first floor of their commercial park in North London. The brief requirements were much more open this time. We needed to refresh but not completely revise the 2007 set...
